Subsidiarity: 1. The idea that dismantles the bloated State
Subsidiarity states that power should operate at the level closest to the citizen. Only when that level cannot perform a function should a higher level intervene. This principle limits the natural expansion of the state and protects social autonomy, which is why it is rarely applied.
